The improved “Bear Garden” brightens up the everyday life of the Balvi townspeople

Every work, bigger or smaller, in the improvement of the urban environment, especially the promotion of the efficient use of the city’s green areas – parks, squares is a gift to the citizens and guests of the city.

As a result of the implementation of Latvian Russian cross-border cooperation project NR. LV-RU-040 NewLINE, Lāča dārzs park has become brighter, more beautiful and more attractive for visitors. Within the framework of the project, a visitor flow counting acquipment was installed, which is a witness to the increase in visitor flow. Reports show that 8837 visitors have been counted in the park since the counter was installed. The largest number of visitors – 1570 was fixed from 28.09.2020 to 03.10.2020. at the time of the grand opening of the park. Also, a large number of visitors – 864 was recorded on 19.10.2020-25.10.2020, when the Lāča dārzs was decorated in the most beautiful autumn colors. The following week also showed an intense flow of visitors- 601, where most of the park was visited on November 1, 2020, when snowdrifts and snow-covered tree branches began to write a winter fairy tale. Also at Christmas, people liked to spend time in the park – 25.12.2020. were listed 186, but 26.12.2020. – 181 visitors. Our Lāča dārzs is wonderful in all seasons, mornings, days and evenings.
