Improvement of the Bear Garden (Lāča dārzs) on an area of 4 hectares began in September 2019. The works were ordered by Balvi Municipality, the contractor was “ASKO AS” Ltd. The works are planned to be completed by May 2020. The works envisage leveling the relief, restoring the grass cover, updating the path network, installing visitor counters, cleaning the park pond.
