ZAKU MANOR

The house of the lord Zakumuiza is considered a masterpiece of Latvian regional symbiosis (“Heimatstil”), Neoclassicism and Jugendstil symbiosis. This building was built for Baron Friedrich von Wolf. In 1910, Zakumuiza castle was destroyed during the 1st world war.

The area of the Park is 27.5 ha, of which 1.1 ha is occupied by a pond and a large Jugla. The Central building has not been preserved, the Park is heavily overgrown, so its original composition is almost impossible to decipher. There are still stands of round oaks near the former front yard, and on the territory of the Park there are large groups of coniferous trees and ponds.
