VILZENI MANOR

Vilzeni manor from 1757 until the agrarian reform of 1920 belonged to the von Sievers family.

The estate manager’s house and several outbuildings have survived to this day.

The area of the Park is 8.62 ha, of which the pond occupies 0.88 ha. The Eastern part of the Park is designed with alleys in the form of closed areas. In the Western part there was a house of the lord with a front yard and a pond. The plantings are based on local tree species. 2 oaks stand out (diameter at chest height 150 cm, height 25 m). Vilzeni manor Park is marked both by its great trees and by the fact that this place is home to one of the largest colonies of white storks in Latvia.

The pride of Vilzeni manor is also in Latvia, perhaps, the thickest larch, whose circumference is even worthy of a great oak.
