It is possible that Keipene got its name from Canonis Kaipens, who purchased the area in the mid-15th century from a Riga landlord, who in turn bought the property from the Livonian order of Peter fon Borh. In 1743, combining eight farms, the Jaunkeipene estate was created (the Veckeipene estate was destroyed in the Northern war).
In the state’s defense since 1977 is the Keipene Park (5.97 ha) with valuable introduced trees, of which the largest circumference of gray nuts reaches 2.9 m and 3.4 m. There are 27 trees in Kapukalns, or Keipene Park. Area-5 ha. The Park is badly destroyed. Features that allow us to judge the original layout of the Park can not be stated.
