JUMURDA MANOR

The lord’s house was built shortly after 1856, when the estate fell into the ownership of Alvil von Tranze. One of the most popular examples of Latvian historicist architecture, the facades use the contrast of unbroken bricks. In the exterior layout of the building, the principles of architectural composition of the Villa are combined with the English neo-Gothic tower. The construction works were supervised by the lib construction master Marcis Sarums. In 1905, the castle was destroyed. in 1906 — 1909, its owner was Dr. Reinhold Mihael Liepins. The castle was restored in 1907. The last owner was Libert, who came from Russia to Jumurda and bought part of Reinhold Liepins in the estate.

Area of the park: 2,75 ha. To the west of the palace, a round, hedge-covered parade area. To the east, a park built on the coast of lake with a distant perspective from the castle to the lake. There are many old oaks from the local species in the park, including one with a diameter of 146 cm and a height of 26 m.
