AUGSTROZE MANOR

The manor was built for the Baron von Wolff family in 1843. The timing of this neo-Gothic building shows the early distribution of new art casts, not only in the metropolis – Riga, but also in the countryside. It was difficult to see what the new building looked like, including a house of older masters.

The former neo-gothic manor still has a large tower, basements and the central part of the building, in the courtyard of which there were four large windows on the first floor, and next to them – a heavy arched porch.

The area of the park is 15.04 ha, of which 0.08 ha is occupied by a pond. In the Park on both sides introduced long alleys of European larch. Part of the park was created in a regular layout with rows of trimmed trees, alleys, gazebos, but it is almost completely destroyed.

The plantings are based on local species. Planted 4 types of local roses. 13 exotic species were also found. The most valuable of them are many European larch trees, which are planted in groups and separately in the park, as well as in alleys along both access roads.
