ODZIENA MANOR

The castle was built in the middle of the 19th century. Similar neo-Gothic monuments are found in neighboring countries, for example, in the Kittendorf Palace in Germany (1860s) or in Poland (2. side of the 19th century). This indicates that a house equated to the European level has been created in the Vidzeme rural area.

The beginning of the Odziena manor dates back to 1455. The current building of the manor was built in the mid-19th century during the time of Adrian fon Brimmer. The estate complex includes more than 30 different buildings. During the 1905 riots, the castle was burned down, and partially restored after the first world war. In the 30s of the 20th century, one part of the castle was equipped with apartments, in the other – rooms for events, and part remained undeveloped.

The area of the Park is 4 ha, of which 0.2 ha is occupied by water. Terrain with a slight slope in the direction of lake Odziena. Some fragments of the Park remain, with a small area in the middle. Regular plantings along 5 access roads.
